With children around the country still in lockdown, we have noticed continuing uncertainty and stress placed on children and young people. Our ‘Someone to Talk to’ project works with schools to encourage young people to talk about their mental wellbeing and create happy, healthy lives for them. In our last blog post, we discussed what the project is and why it is so vital in our community, so please do have a look at that post for more information.
In this blog, we wanted to share some of the new and exciting ways to support this campaign.
‘Someone to Talk to’ Bundle from Child’s Play books
The set contains two children’s books focusing on positivity, understanding others feelings and our own. Reading these books to your child provides opportunities for you to open up conversations about how they have been feeling at home by talking about the characters and their challenges.
Plus, this bundle contains a special six-page activity pack. It includes lots of ideas to get your child further engaged with the books and talking about their mental wellbeing.
The best part of this is that the whole set is only £10! We can also reassure you that £1 goes directly towards the ‘Someone to Talk to’ project for every set sold. Not only are you opening up a conversation with your child about their happiness, but you also provide a chance for another child to get the support they need.
If you’re interested in purchasing the set, please use this link.
The ANXTI Soft Toy
Each of these adorable toys is handmade and unique. Just a quick word of caution, as they are handmade, it is recommended that they are kept away from toddlers and babies. If your child just wants a soft toy to cuddle up with at night or something to express their anxieties, this is a great option.
By purchasing an ANXTI soft toy, you support a small UK business and support us. For every sale of their soft toy ANXTI donates 10% of the cost. That works out to £3 of every sale going directly to the project!

The Co-Op Fund
We recognize that families across London and the UK, the lockdown is placing a strain on how much you want to spend every month. So we have also come up with a few ways to support the project that are entirely FREE to you.
The first of those is through the Co-Op Fund. If you use a Co-Op for anything from a weekly shop to just picking up a few odd bits, you can sign up to be a Co-Op member. All it takes is a few minutes of your time to sign up here.
Once your all signed up Co-Op allows you to choose a charity, by selecting Little Lives UK as your charity, no matter where you are in the country, for every £1 you spend the Co-Op donates 2p to us. That may not sound like a lot to you; every 2p does quickly add up for us.
So, if you have a spare five minutes and want a free way to support children in your community sign up to be a Co-Op member today.
Aviva Fund
Launching on February 16th at noon, we have another fabulous FREE way to show your support for the project.
Every three months, Aviva splits £250,000 among their UK employees. This allows them to choose a project to donate to that matters the most to them.
All you need to qualify is to be an Aviva employee and choose the ‘Someone to Talk to’ project. Every member who selects the ‘Someone to Talk to’ project Aviva donates £25 directly to the project.
If you are not an Aviva employee, do not despair. For the first week that the fund is live (16th – 23rd February 2020), you too can donate!
