How to donate clothes to charity?
Whether you are cleaning out your closets for the new season or just trying to find a new use for clothes you haven’t worn in years, there’s simply no better option than donating to our charity. You can either drop these clothes off directly at out convenient charity shop locations, or you can arrange a charity clothes collection for free.
Why donate clothes?
Donating your unwanted and unused clothes to Little Lives UK. Help disabled and disadvantaged children around London. Moreover, through the donation you can do your part to ensure clothes don’t end up in the waste bin and contribute to environmental waste. When clothes are donated to charity shops, they are sold and the proceeds are put back into the community, and help local projects that support people.
What clothes can I donate?
We collect a variety of items, all of which will hugely help our efforts in supporting disabled and disadvantaged children. Clothes – t-shirts, shirts, jumpers, coats, jackets, dresses, shorts. Accessories – bags, belts, gloves, scarves, sunglasses, wallets. Jewellery – necklaces, watches, rings, earrings, bracelets. Household items – duvet covers, towels, curtains. Toys – board games, puzzles, Lego Books & Bric-a-brac.
Your clothes donation helps children in need across London
Your clothes donations massively aid us with our work. Through your donations, we are able to organise and fund regular campaigns that support many organisations in the crucial work they do.
We often donate a number of items directly to families and children in need. We regularly supply local councils and schools with children’s items donated to us, including books and toys, so they can immediately go towards helping children.
Some of the clothing donated to us, we directly use to support the community. We work closely with local refugee centres, regularly offering them clothing items donated to us, which they can provide to many families.
So, before you throw out any unwanted items, please donate them to Little Lives UK through our clothes collection service or drop them off at one of our charity shops.
How clothes donations help to reduce clothing waste in the UK
In the UK each year there is an estimated £140 million worth of clothing dumped in landfills each year. A lot of the time these clothes would be easily reused but because of cheap clothing and our throw-away culture, we see our landfills filling up and thousands of tonnes of clothing and textiles which could have been reused or repurposed.
Drop your clothes to one of our charity shops
Our charity clothes shops are based in Raynes Park, Tooting and Fulham in London, they operate solely on a charity basis with all proceeds supporting the community through our charity’s campaigns. You can simply drop off your unwanted clothes to one of the locations or use our clothes collection service.
