Volunteering London Charity shop in Tooting Broadway
Little Lives Charity supports families in England and around the world with a seriously ill child. We’re already making a big difference, but there are thousands more children who could benefit from our support. With your help, we can run our Tooting Broadway charity shop and generate much-needed funds to reach out to disabled and disadvantaged children in London.
If you have a little time to spare and would like to use it to benefit a charity, we’d love to hear from you. We’re currently looking for Little Lives Volunteers to help make our mission a reality.
Who can volunteer?
Whether you’re unemployed, retired, unable to work, looking for work experience while you’re still in education, or you simply have some spare time, you’ll be suitable to join the Little Lives team. If you’d like to volunteer, you’ll need to be aged 18 or over, and be able to reach out Tooting High Street charity shop. Other than that, there are no requirements for the role – and you don’t need previous retail experience.
What does volunteering involve?
Depending on the amount of time you have to spare, previous experience and confidence, you’ll be asked to sort through donations, price goods, work on a till, create window displays and distribute donation bags in our or your local area. We sit down with our volunteers one-on-one before they sign up to find out more about them, and see where they’d fit best in the charity.
Why should I help?
As well as helping us run the Little Lives charity shop and make a real difference in the local community, volunteering in a charity shop offers a number of benefits. Not only will you be giving back, but you’ll get to join a fantastic, passionate team of volunteers who have come together for one common goal. You’ll also get some hands-on experience working in the retail sector, which you can put on our CV and use when applying for paid jobs in the future. Oh, and you’ll get to meet our fantastic customers, make new friends and have fun. No two days are the same.
How else can I help?
If you don’t have enough free time to volunteer regularly for Little Lives, get in touch and ask about our events and donation bag distribution days. We’re always looking for an extra pair of hands on our one-off events, so don’t hesitate to get in touch. Alternatively, you could donate your old phone to charity, visit our charity shop to grab a bargain and spend some money, or have a spring clean and donate your old clothes to us.
How do I get started?
