100% Secure data erasure

Before any laptop, tablet, or smartphone is refurbished for a child, it undergoes a rigorous data sanitization process.

Professional wiping: We use industry-standard software to overwrite all data, making it unrecoverable. This exceeds a simple “factory reset.”

Physical destruction: If a hard drive is faulty or cannot be securely wiped, it is physically destroyed and recycled responsibly.

Removable media: We manually check for and remove all SIM cards, SD cards, and physical discs.


Certificate of data deletion

For your peace of mind and for corporate compliance we can provide a Certificate of Data Destruction upon request (Erase Method: US DoD 5220.22-M). This document confirms that your device’s storage has been successfully wiped according to UK data protection standards.


Our recommendation before collection

While our team will wipe every device, we recommend that you:

Back up any photos or files you wish to keep.

Sign out of accounts (iCloud, Google, etc.) and remove any “Find My” locks.

Perform a factory reset if you are able to do so.

Wow. What an amazing charity! As a teacher, being able to provide an emotion based school avoider teenager with a replacement for their broken laptop so that they could study from home was incredibly heart-warming. In this time where modern technology is commonplace, it is all too easy to forget that not everyone is in the financial position to be able to afford to replace what has become 'essential' technology. My pupil, and their mother, were both beside themselves with joy and gratitude, with the Little Lives gift. More importantly, they both appeared visibly relieved to have had a stress factor removed. Well what can I say......from the moment contact was made it was great between little lives and north Somerset victim support services they went above and beyond to get my 9yr old daughter a phone as part of her emergency action plan. This was all done in the matter of 2 weeks and the phone arrived before Christmas. What a wonderful charity doing things for families in need like me who just can't afford a phone in order for my daughter to feel safe and have contact with family if she's in need of doing so. I cannot thank you enough for making this happen and taking away a mountain of stress and anxiety for me and my daughter. Thank you just isnt enough and the government need to look at this and support and back it in every shape and form.
