Why donate to Little Lives UK

We are a small, local charity, meaning every contribution is instrumental in our efforts to help many children, that often don’t have access to much needed support. Your donations will massively assist Little Lives UK with our future campaigns that will focus on building children’s confidence and well-being so they can prosper as part of their communities.

1 in 10 children aged between 5 and 15 have a diagnosable mental health disorder. That is 3 in every single school class across London and over 100,000 across the capital.

Poor mental wellbeing in childhood increases the chances in later life of: poor educational attainment, antisocial behaviour, alcohol and drug misuse, involvement in criminal activity. Therefore, it is vital that children and young people have access to the right support should they need it.

You are investing in our nation’s most precious asset – our children. Every child in the UK deserves a healthy start in life, a chance for a bright future and a safe, nurturing environment. That’s why all our projects are centred around giving children what they need in order to succeed in the future.

Healthy and happy children are the key to building sustainable, family-friendly communities. When children are thriving, so too are families. For that reason, our projects also focus on building communities so that children who lack traditional family structures can have additional support that will help them grow and prosper.

What we’ve achieved through your donations

Since Little Lives UK was established, we have organised over twenty-seven grassroot projects aimed at helping disadvantaged children. Our supporters and doners are a vital part of our Little Lives UK family. Your generous donations have allowed us to support children, who face many challenges, through various campaigns.

Tree Tops resurfacing

Tree Tops resurfacing

“Little Lives UK’s funding for our new wet-pour safety surfacing will allow the children to play much more freely, whilst also being a lot safer. Especially for some of our children in wheelchairs who previously couldn’t play in the area, now can move around in a much safer and more accessible environment. The new surfacing means our children can play out there as much as possible, without any major safety concerns.”

Queen’s Park tablet donation

“Having these Ipad donations from Little Lives UK gives our students access to develop digital skills, that will certainly help with their education. It also helps psychologically as they are now included in the digital world by having access to these items.”

Reclaim Gift Aid

Gift Aid It!Add 25% more to your donation at no cost to you. A Gift Aid declaration allows Little Lives UK to claim tax back on eligible donations. It means that for every £1 you donate to Little Lives UK we can claim back 25p, at no extra cost to you.

By ticking the "Yes" box, I agree I would like Little Lives UK to reclaim the tax on all qualifying donations I have made, as well as any future donations, until I notify them otherwise. I understand that if I pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all my donations in that tax year I may be asked to pay any difference. I understand that Little Lives UK will reclaim 25p of tax on every £1 that I give.

What is Gift Aid?

Gift Aid does not cost you a penny more, but can add an additional 25p to every £1 you donate. When Little Lives UK receives a donation from a UK taxpayer, we're entitled to claim an amount of tax (calculated at the basic rate of income tax in that year) paid on that donation. Once you have given your permission for us to do this on your behalf, there is no need for you to do anything else.

All that is required is that you must be a taxpayer and that would have paid or will pay sufficient Income and/or Capital Gains Tax to cover all the Gift Aid claimed on all your donations in that tax year. Please note that it is your responsibility to pay any difference.

The amount of tax we claim will be 25% of the total value of your donations in that tax year. Furthermore, if you are a higher taxpayer, you are also entitled to claim the difference between the basic rate which we will claim and the amount of tax you have actually paid. For further details on how you can do this, please contact your tax office. If your tax situation changes and your gifts will no longer be eligible for the Gift Aid scheme please contact us and we will amend your record accordingly.
