Our new Childrenโs Community Support Programme is aiming to help childrenโs organisations based in London that are in need of support following the events of the past year. The second of these projects that we have chosen to support is The London Reading Centreโs โMusic Marvelsโ project.
Our donation to Strength and Learning Through Horses
Our donation will assist them with their efforts in helping children and young people, who have learning difficulties and are experiencing mental health related issues. Their ethos in aiming to support young people in the London community, to help them become confident and happy adults was a major factor in our offer of support.
Mental Health Awareness Week
Last week was mental health awareness week. At Little Lives UK, we are doing everything we can to help make sure that many of Londonโs children can receive much needed support for their mental health issues. We want to highlight some of the key facts on the mental health problems that children and young people are currently experiencing.
What We Achieved in Lockdown
It has been a frustrating start of the year for Little Lives UK. Lockdown across the UK meant that our stores were closed for just under four months, and our projects put on hold. Unsurprisingly, this has meant that we have been unable to function as we would ideally like. Nonetheless, as a charity, we were determined not to do nothing throughout this time. Therefore, we set out to identify how we can not only help children through lockdown, but also how we can help the organisations that work with them.
Stressbusters For Stress Awareness Month
Every April in the UK is Stress awareness month. In 2021, when everyone is feeling the stresses of lockdown and our uncertain futures, thinking about ways to control our stress level is critical this year. According to the Mental health Foundation, 74% of UK adults have felt so stressed at some point over the last year they felt overwhelmed or unable to cope.
