Welcome to the Little Lives UK blog. Our customers and the people who donate to Little Lives are an integral part of the work that we do. Without the support of our customers and donations it would not be possible for Little Lives to make a difference to children in London. It’s important that we keep you updated on the work that we do, but we also want to share our journey as we grow and the impact we hope to achieve.
Our first shop opened in December 2017 and is located in Tooting. In December 2018, we opened the second Little Lives UK branch in Raynes Park. The last couple of months have been exciting but hardwork! As well as the two stores, Little Lives also provides a free collection service around a large area of London. February has been a busy month for Little Lives UK and we really hope that you enjoy reading all about it.
On February 2nd, a member of our staff appeared on BBC Radio London on the Robert Elms show to talk about the work that we do. As you can imagine we were all thrilled but as a small team of staff the show must go on and despite her brief stint as a celebrity had a shift to work at the Tooting store at 2pm. Unfortunately that afternoon our Tooting branch, had 3 shoplifters in the space of an hour! We were able to retrieve goods from one of the culprits at the time and are very happy to report that the other two offenders were detained at later dates when they revisited the shop, thank you to the police officers who attended and assisted with resolving the matter. Our staff are vigilant and are passionate about the charity and it’s aims and we will not tolerate shoplifters.
Unfortunately, the Raynes Park branch has also had an incident of theft this month, on Thursday 14th February a guitar was taken from the display window, we haven’t resolved the matter to date. Since our appearance on the radio our donations and collections have increased by 10%, this means that we will be able to help and support even more children across London. We are very proud to announce that Little Lives UK has been named as the preferred charity for two organisations and will keep you updated on developments and events.
