It has been a challenging year for many people in the UK but now that 2022 is starting to wind down and we can start to look forward to 2023, we can also look back on all of the amazing campaigns and projects that your generous donations have achieved this year.
Little Lives UK is extremely grateful for all of the support we have received this year in every way we have received it.
Let’s take a look at some of what we have been able to achieve with our four campaigns from your donations.
Because of your support we have been able to donate a huge £5,500 to the Footsteps Foundation so they can provide 100 children they support with a free pair of specialised orthopaedic MEMO shoes to help aid them in the physiotherapy sessions they receive.
You have also given the opportunity for eight children to participate on a 4-night residential voyage with Tall Ships Youth Trust. £2,000 of your donations saw that inner-city children who would not usually have the opportunity to, spend time on a sailing ship learning how to work together as a team, learn about the importance of tolerance and learn practical skills around the ship.
We are proud to be providing free mental health sessions to children in the UK who are in need of professional intervention. We would not be able to support children without your help.
This year we have given donations and funding to several mental health professionals who give free therapy and counselling sessions to children. We have also been working with a Poole based counsellors called ReWellness.
Thanks to your generosity, eight children a month are receiving free, regular and vital counselling sessions with ReWellness who help them to manage their emotional concerns, feelings of fear, anxiety and pain, and help them manage feelings that surround any past or current traumas.
Our newest campaign was started to ensure that every child has the same opportunities to engage in a sport of their choosing. We believe in inclusion through sport and the vital role that sport has in teaching children and young people about values and fair play.
This year, we have been lucky enough to sponsor four teams, one club and one individual.
We have sponsored Carla Rudkin-Guillen who is a 15-year-old Karate champion from New Milton, Hampshire. Your generosity has ensured that for the next year, Carla can continue her specialist training and continue to pursue her passion for Karate competitively.
Your donations have also gone towards sponsoring the match kits for two teams who play for Oakmeadians Rugby Club in Bournemouth. Two youth teams now have their own kits to use for matches and for those who cannot afford the club membership fees have now got a fund set aside to help with these costs.
All year round we collect unwanted electrical items as donations with our free London collection service. Not only are you helping to save the planet by not resigning your old tech to a landfill but you are helping to give children the ability to stay up to date with their school work.
Thousands of children around the UK do not have the access to the devices they need to complete their homework and schoolwork. We want to end this. We want to end technology poverty in the UK for good.
Thanks to your generosity and donations of unwanted electronics and monetary donations, we have given a total of 809 devices to children who need them to continue their education.
